Why do people choose which parts of the Bible they want to believe or obey? The writings in the Bible were inspired by God. The word 'Inspiration' means "stimulation of the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity". In Latin 'Inspirare' means "breathe into, instill, or implant". In the book of Amos the prophet speaks of being overwhelmed by God's voice and compelled to speak. On an ending note, God inspired individuals to write the Holy Bible to help inspire, instruct, and uplift us while we are here on planet earth. Follow the Word of God...get in tune with Him and His Word so he can direct your path!
BIBLE-(Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." ~John 1:1 "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." ~Psalms 119:105 Blessings, ~Spiritually Fabulous

Thou shalt have none other gods before me. Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thy shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thy shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's." "These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me." ~Deuteronomy 5:6-21;22 Friends, none of us are perfect...we may fall short on a daily basis but we are also able to ask God for forgivness and start over again. With that being said, the 'Ten Commandments' is God's law. They are rules that we are to abide by...rules by which to live one's life!...; ) Blessings, ~Spiritually Fabulous You have to choose whose side you are on...you can't be neutral.
